Mozilla Firefox
Are you still using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to browse the internet? The time has come to make the switch. The newest version of Mozilla Firefox loads web pages faster and has an intuitive interface and blocks viruses, spyware, and popup ads. In today’s article we are going to highlight some of the features of Firefox and discuss a few of the extensions that you can add on to enhance your experience.
One of the features that I like best is the built in search bar. No longer do you need to install a toolbar to have a place to easily start web page searches. In the integrated search bar you can choose which search engine you want to use. You can choose from Google, Yahoo and even shopping tools like Amazon and eBay. I usually keep mine on Google, but when I need to do a quick search of eBay I just click on the drop down menu, choose eBay and type in my search.
Another great feature is the tabbed browsing function. Tabbed browsing allows you to have multiple web pages open in one browser window. Some days I have 6 or 7 different web pages open at a time and I can easily switch between them with ease. For someone like me who likes to have some order while on the computer, tabbed browsing is great because it does not clutter my Windows taskbar with 14 different browsers open at a time.
Probably the best thing about Firefox are the extensions. The extensions are an add on features that can do a multitude of different functions. One of the extensions I use allows me to write this article in a little pop-up window in Firefox and then publish straight to my blog without even visiting the blog page. This extensions is call Performancing. Another great extension is IE tab. In today’s Internet there are still some web pages that won’t load in Firefox. These pages were built to be run only with Internet Explorer. IE tab opens up a copy of Internet Explorer in one of you Firefox tabs. You can even set the options so that anytime you view a certain page it automatically opens in an IE tab.
I could go on and on praising Mozilla Firefox, but I think it time for you to find out what Firefox can do to enhance your computing experience. Go to their web page today and download a copy and install it. The download is under 6 MB and takes minutes to install.
